Safely Enjoying Your New Used Car
Purchasing a new, or different used car means re-evaluating safety procedures. After all, you want to enjoy the car and keep it a long time. You also do not want to be a hazard on the roadway and possibly injure yourself or other motorists. Every car is different and takes getting used to, keep this in mind before setting out on a long trip.
Used cars may have certain features in different places. Make sure you know where the horn, hazard lights and windshield wipers are before you actually need the. You can be looking around for the horn when a car is about to hit you.
Make sure that the shoes you wear will not get caught up in different floor mats or carpet tears. Set all the mirrors and make sure you know where the blind spots are, all automobiles have them. Familiarize yourself with how quickly the brakes work and how fast the car accelerates before pulling out into traffic. If you were used to a large, powerful auto and now have a small, economy car, you may not be able to merge into traffic as easily.
These tips apply to any new or different car that you are driving. Familiarizing yourself with a different car should be the first thing you do. Waiting until you are in traffic or a dangerous situation may be too late.
